This website provides the public fair access to reserve parking space permits at municipal garages in New York City. During the 5 day reservation period it distributes parking space permit reservations to customers on a first-come, first-served basis up to the available supply of parking spaces at each garage. A New York State Department of Motor Vehicles driver’s license check is performed at the time of the reservation. Only one reservation and permit will be issued to each driver, per garage.
Obtaining a reservation does not guarantee a parking permit will be issued. The customer must obtain the actual parking permit at the selected garage. The permit will be issued at the selected garage once all the required steps have been completed. A limited number of permits will be available for reservation and purchase in-person at each garage.
The East 149th Street Municipal Parking Garage located at 315 East 149th Street in the Bronx is temporarily closed due to safety concerns at the facility. The affected area appears to be a very localized section of the garage, but for now it will remain closed to arriving vehicles as we and the Buildings Department work to rectify the issue. DOT will review all requests for refunds once the garage is back in full operation. Customers are still able to pick up vehicles currently parked inside.
- The reservation period is the last five (5) CALENDAR days of each month
- BEFORE the first day of the next month the customer must present the parking space reservation email confirmation, fee, and driver’s license appearing on the reservation to the garage manager to receive the parking permit
- ON the first day of the month appear in-person at a selected garage to reserve and purchase one of the limited number of permits that will be available at each garage. The documentation described above will be required

If you are applying for tax exemption, bring proof along with payment to the garage and the adjustment will be made at the garage.
